Meet our September - Mom of the Month!

Congrats to Brook, our September Mom of the Month!

Brook is such a sweet, kindhearted mama! Brook has taken many Body Well sessions and loves our mom only classes! If you have taken a class or session with her, you know that she is always working out with a smile on her face and is there to uplift one another!

Congratulations, Brook! We love having you in Our Village!

Hometown: Glen Ellyn

Tell us who is in your family: My husband Eric is an attorney at Winston & Strawn in Chicago. Thomas, 6, is a first grader at Ben Franklin. Judah (JJ, Jude, Juju) is 4 and goes to Westminster Preschool in Glen Ellyn. Colette (Coco) is 18 months and full of sweetness and a little bit of sassy;).

Current/Previous Career: I taught 2nd grade prior to having Thomas.

What was your childhood ambition? To be a teacher! My dream came true:)

What does motherhood mean to you? Motherhood started off as a lonely, uncertain journey - I had a difficult time transitioning from full-time teaching to being full-time at home with a baby. Now, 6 years in to this motherhood journey, I have grown and learned so much about being a mom. These little people are so precious and I’m grateful to have my kids come to me with all the hugs, questions, and worries. My mom was my support person growing up and my hope is to do the same for my kids!

What is the farthest you have been away from home? Croatia & Montenegro, on our ten year anniversary!

How did you find FIT4MOM DuPage County? When Thomas was 4 months old I wanted to start exercising again and also find a mom community - FIT4MOM DuPage County was perfect for both!

How has FIT4MOM DuPage County changed your life? I found a community of mom friends, as well as confidence (and support!) through FIT4MOM! The Body Well program has been life changing as well. FIT4MOM has taught me to make time for myself in order to be a better mom.

Favorite exercise: Monkeys

Proudest Moment: I’m currently training for a half marathon, and I’m pretty proud to have trained all summer!

What is one thing you have learned so far from this year? I’ve learned to be more flexible/accommodating as I transitioned from 2 to 3 kids😜

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us!: I am a twin and I married a twin! My mom is a twin too!
