Meet our November 2024 - Mom of the Month

Congrats to Jessi, our November Mom of the Month!

Jessi joined Our Village when she was expecting her daughter and took FIT4BABY throughout her entire pregnancy. She is now a familiar face in our stroller classes with her sweet girl, Jovi. Jessi and Jovi are the cutest little duo and we love the smiles they share with all the mamas and kiddos!

Get to know Jessi

Hometown: Lombard, IL

Tell us who is in your family: Jovi is my only child! She’s almost 2 years old and I would describe her as my mini me. I also have an amazing family dog who is turning 15 in March!

Current/Previous Career: Full time mom/starting school to become a physicians assistant

What was your childhood ambition? To become a doctor.

What does motherhood mean to you? To me, motherhood means contentment. When things in life get hard or crazy, I am reminded of the blessing I have to be a present mother. I’m so grateful to have raised my daughter these past 2 years and first hand see her personality change and develop. It’s the greatest feeling in the world and is extremely hard to put into words!

What is the farthest you have been away from home? Split, Croatia

How did you find FIT4MOM DuPage County? My best friend's sister was doing FIT4BABY and got me to join that when I was pregnant, which led me to find out about FIT4MOM.

How has FIT4MOM DuPage County changed your life? Through FIT4MOM, I’ve been able to meet so many amazing moms who constantly lift each other up. I don’t have many friends/family who have kids, so having this community where I can relate to other moms in SO many different ways is something I’m thankful for. It has also pushed me to remain consistent in my fitness journey and show the importance of exercise and health to my baby!

Favorite exercise: Any variation of squats.

Proudest Moment: I recently was accepted into PA school after a 2 year gap of school/work to raise Jovi.

What is one thing you have learned so far from this year? Don’t stress over what you can’t control. There’s so much in life that you want to control, but a lot of the time it’s either in the hands of other people or it’s something that has no value in stressing over. Try to stay present in the people/things you love!!

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us!: I used to play hockey (and already have Jovi in ice skating lessons).
