March generally brings two things to mind: Luck and Spring. Let's take a moment to tie those together and think about how lucky we are to do what we do each day and how to elevate that this spring.
As of this month I no longer own a stroller. A lot of reflection came with that. I chatted with some friends about how bittersweet the moment was and I realized how lucky I was to have used my strollers so much. The single stroller I used walking my daughter every morning as a new mom figuring out a routine. I got my double stroller when I was pregnant with my son, set on moving with my kids. I very happily passed my double along to a mom joining her first Stroller Strides class.
Over the years with those strollers I went on many runs and attended many FIT4MOM classes with my kids. Not only did they enjoy the time at class with me, or find the runs fun, but I got to show them the power of exercise and set a good example from an early age. I realized how lucky I am. I am lucky for the physical ability to move and exercise. I am lucky that I found this Village to welcome me with open arms and my kids to make friends. I am lucky for the time I invested in myself to keep going, even when I struggled.
I am lucky every day that I get to wake up and move my body. My kids mention exercise frequently, because they watch and learn. I am lucky I had the opportunity to do Body Well sessions and find my strength. (Coincidentally, more are coming up starting April 7th!) The weather is getting warmer and classes can move outside, too. The fresh air makes spring workouts that much stronger. I am lucky I have this Village, and the variety of options offered, to keep me and my kiddos moving through this wild ride that’s life. I challenge you to think about why you’re lucky. Everything big and small - acknowledge what makes you lucky to be you!
