Feel Good This Fall

Welcome to Fall Y’all! The first day of fall has come and we are amidst the air fluctuating from hot to cold, leaves changing and falling to the ground and back to school is in full swing. Many of the beloved summertime activities and hobbies are now shoved aside as we’re overly packing our fall schedules with sports, classes, homework, etc. It’s been said in multiple other blogs this year - take care of you!

The back to school madness is a very real thing. Suddenly schedules are different, routines are changed, habits are adjusted, and it can be hard to find time to take care of yourself while you’re helping others adjust. You are in a village of women who can relate to this stress! As routines change, try to slot time for yourself each day into the new routine so everyone can adjust to your care as well.

Along with the new school year and seasons changing comes germ emergence (which feels worse than the cicada emergence). Suddenly everyone is sick with a variety of different viruses and sniffles abound. Parts of boosting that immune system are exercise, eating well and getting rest (substantially easier said than done)! Some great recipes that are vegetable heavy and taste delicious for the whole family are in the Body Well recipe guides - I still use them from every season as household staples. Getting your whole family on board with the care routine will help keep germs at bay.

As you’ve heard time after time, taking care of yourself is critical. Mental, emotional, and physical well being are the only way to support yourself and sustain the energy to help take care of your family. Get outside and take a walk or bike ride with the family and enjoy the beautiful scenes of fall. Take moments for you each day, even if it’s 10 minutes reading a book for one of our upcoming book clubs (next one is November 15th!). Eat well to keep your body functioning at its highest potential. We know mamas are the rockstars - so take care of yourself like one this fall. In the words of Parks and Recreations Tom Haverford - “Treat Yo Self!”
