Congrats to Lisel, our September Mom of the Month!

Lisel joined us when she found out she was pregnant! She attended FIT4BABY throughout her entire pregnancy. Once she was cleared to workout postpartum, she quickly jumped right into our stroller classes. Now she is currently taking her first Body Well session and Run Club+! We love having you and your sweet little one in Our Village! Congrats, mama!

Get to know Lisel

Hometown: Naperville, IL

Tell us who is in your family: Myself, my husband (Ryan), our daughter (Caroline, 4 months), and our cat (Sherlock, 12 years)

Current/Previous Career: Healthcare market research. We're hired by different pharmaceutical companies to run surveys and conduct interviews with healthcare providers and patients about products and services.

What was your childhood ambition? I loved singing and being in plays, and absolutely wanted to be an actor when I was younger. Theater turned into a fun hobby during high school and college. And I still like to be invovled in local theater productions when I can.

What does motherhood mean to you? It means being present and doing my best each day for my child. And that mistakes and messiness will happen, and that that's okay!

What is the farthest you have been away from home? Japan. I had a friend living there, and went for a visit. It was wonderful! So beautiful and the food was amazing.

How did you find FIT4MOM DuPage County? When I was pregnant, I was looking for pregnancy-friendly workout classes and FIT4BABY came up in my search. I've been going to classes ever since!

How has FIT4MOM DuPage County changed your life? Being a new mom, it's incredibly helpful to have a group of other women who are either going through or have gone through similar things. Being a parent can be really hard at times, so it's nice to have that support.

Favorite exercise: Squats! I like that there are so many variations.

Proudest Moment: My first postpartum workout. It felt great to do something just for me.

What is one thing you have learned so far from this year? To go with the flow. With the new baby, I'm really having to learn to be flexible. It's tough sometimes because I love routines and being busy!

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us!: I was named after a poet my dad really liked (Lisel Mueller).
