Congratulations to Molly, our September mom of the month!

Molly joined us last spring and has already hit over 50 classes! You can see Molly bright and early for some mom-only classes and at our stroller classes. We love her bright smile and the energy she brings to our village.

Tell us who is in your family: My husband, Ian, and I have 2 daughters and 2 sons: Dakota (11), McCoy (7), Oakley (4) and Clooney Ruth (2).

Current/Previous Career: Special Education Teacher in District 41

What was your childhood ambition? I wanted to be a teacher ever since I was young.

What does motherhood mean to you? Motherhood is empowering. It is a timeless bond. Knowing someone inside and out and loving every part of them.

What is the farthest you have been away from home? Dominican Republic on our Honeymoon but recently a 3 week long camping and fishing trip to Montana and Wyoming with our 4 kids.

How did you find FIT4MOM DuPage County? Kaely R. She is a friend of mine from College and an inspirational mom who invited me to join her.

How has FIT4MOM DuPage County changed your life? I love being able to workout and talk with friends. Before joining FIT4MOM, I always felt like it was one or the other.

Favorite exercise: Squats or jogging

Proudest Moment: Last year, I had a SAHM identity crisis and demoed my entry hall closet and floor. I then taught myself carpentry. After spending a lot of time on YouTube, I designed and built a wall of lockers with doors, shoe bins, a bench and new flooring. I am so proud of this project because my kids were able to see me in this role. They saw me learn something new and work hard to improve our home.

What is one thing you have learned so far from this year? I can do hard things!

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us!: We have 6 backyard chickens.
