Meet our October 2023 - Mom of the Month

Congrats to Jane, our October Mom of the Month!

Jane is always greeting our staff with a welcoming smile at 5:30am! She worked out (at 5:30am!!!) all the way up until she delivered her 3rd child and jumped right back into classes once she was cleared to join us again.

We are so blessed to have her in our village! Congrats, mama!

Get to know Jane

Hometown: Villa Park

Tell us who is in your family: My amazing partner Glenn, Henrietta (5), Edith (3), Dorothy (4 months), and my favorite gal – Cupcake, our sweet cat.

Current/Previous Career: I work full time doing accounting work for a small company and have for a little over 10 years now. My job is nothing to write home about, but it allows me a lot of flexibility with my day, which in turn allows me to spend LOTS of time with my girls. Before that, I was a bartender for many years!

What was your childhood ambition? My fifth-grade yearbook says artist and that stayed pretty true throughout my childhood… I always wanted to do something that involved making things/being creative/using my hands.

What does motherhood mean to you? Motherhood is a lot of self-reflecting. What did I do right today? What did I do wrong? How do I do it better tomorrow? It’s working everyday towards becoming the best version of yourself to share and shine back on to your children. It’s being accepted exactly as you are and wholeheartedly returning the sentiment.

What is the farthest you have been away from home? Spain and France. We’re hoping to make it Australia in Summer of 2024!

How did you find FIT4MOM DuPage County? My good friend Jenny! She talked to me about it for YEARS before I finally decided to sign up for a prenatal session when I was pregnant with my Edith.

How has FIT4MOM DuPage County changed your life? First and foremost, it’s allowed me to spend lots of time with my BFF Lauren. Before FIT4MOM I would have to call her to annoy her and now I get to do it in person multiple times a week. Second, it’s taught me that getting up early, specifically getting up early and working out, does not have to be a chore. It can be enjoyable, and it actually sets me up for a successful day. If I ran into my younger self and told her, "you will one day be a mother of three that gets up at 5:00 AM to go work out," my younger self would have slapped me in the face.

Favorite exercise: I love a good surprise circuit day.

Proudest Moment: I mean… I know it’s cliché, but I really do have to say giving birth to my incredible girls. I was proud when I grew my first watermelons, so how could growing humans not be my proudest moment?

What is one thing you have learned so far from this year? Tempus fugit.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us!: I am a woman of many hobbies, and they continue growing. I’m a gardener, knitter, just learned crochet, master vegetarian cook, I bake all the things, cake decorator, I know way too much about artisan cheese, and the list evolves constantly.
