Meet our July 2023 - Mom of the Month

Meet Lauren, our July Mom of the Month!

If you've been to a stroller class lately, then you most definitely know Lauren. She is the bubble queen and loves to start up a convo about anything. We have been so blessed to have Lauren and her sweet daughter attend classes with us on a weekly basis!

Congratulations Mama! We love having you in Our Village!

Get to know Laura

Hometown: Elmhurst

Tell us who is in your family: My husband of 2 years, Nik. We met in middle school and didn’t start dating until 2015 when we both stood up in his sisters wedding. The rest is history! And our beautiful 16 month old baby girl, Alina!

Current/Previous Career: Hair Stylist

What was your childhood ambition? To be a hairstylin’ mama!

What does motherhood mean to you? Motherhood is a gift and a privilege. To me, being a mother means to be fearless, to be a positive role model, to be a continuous cheerleader for every milestone my baby girl will experience, to demonstrate unconditional love, and to cherish every moment.

What is the farthest you have been away from home? The farthest and most beautiful place I’ve even been to is St. Lucia! Such a great experience with my family!

How did you find FIT4MOM DuPage County? I was always very active and loved working out! After having Alina, I really struggled finding a program that worked for our schedule. After many searches on google I found FIT4MOM!

How has FIT4MOM DuPage County changed your life? I am able to get a great work out in while demonstrating the importance of health and fitness to my daughter.

Favorite exercise: I’ve newly started to enjoy running. Alina loves when we go fast in our new jogging stroller!

Proudest Moment: Giving birth to Alina.

What is one thing you have learned so far from this year? Life is all about balance. It’s great to exercise but it’s also great to rest. It’s great to eat a salad, but it’s also great to have a cupcake.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us!: I was diagnosed at 20 weeks pregnant with preeclampsia. Alina was born at just 29 weeks gestation. We spent 66 long days in the NICU. We are both healthy and happy today!
