Does Anyone Else Feel Like Summer Completely Turned Life Upside Down?

I can’t be the only one who’s wondering how we’re already talking about the end of summer.

It feels like just yesterday the kids were getting out of school, and now we’re already thinking about back-to-school shopping, new routines, and squeezing in all the last-minute summer fun.

If I’m being honest, this summer was full—in all the best ways—but it also threw my healthy routine for a loop.

Between vacations, camps, late nights, family events, and trying to keep everyone happy, my schedule felt all over the place. Some weeks I stayed consistent with my workouts and meal plans, and other weeks…well, let’s just say I was surviving on coffee, quick meals, and checking off everyone else’s to-do list before my own.

And maybe you’re feeling that way too.

Motherhood has a funny way of reminding us that life rarely goes according to plan. There are seasons where everything clicks, and there are seasons where we’re simply doing our best. I’ve learned that those seasons don’t define us—they’re just part of the journey.

For the longest time, I used to think that if I couldn’t do everything perfectly, I might as well not do it at all. But I’ve realized that mindset only keeps me stuck.

Now I remind myself that showing up—even imperfectly—is always better than waiting for the “right” time.

That’s one of the biggest reasons I love the community built within FIT4MOM DuPage County.

It’s not about having the perfect body or never missing a workout. It’s about finding a community of moms who get it. Moms who know what it’s like to juggle nap schedules, school pickups, work meetings, sports practices, and everything in between.

Some days you show up feeling strong. Other days you show up exhausted.

Both versions of you are welcome.

The workouts are amazing, but honestly? The friendships, encouragement, and accountability are what keep me coming back. It’s a place where I can take care of myself while my kids see that moms deserve to prioritize their health too.

As we head into a new season, I’m reminding myself that I don’t have to “start over.” I just have to start where I am.

One workout.

One healthy meal.

One walk.

One choice at a time.

If your summer looked anything like mine and you’re feeling ready to get back into a routine, I’d love for you to join us. No pressure. No judgment. Just a group of moms cheering each other on through the beautiful, messy, exhausting, and rewarding journey of motherhood.

Here’s to giving ourselves a little grace, building healthy habits that actually fit our lives, and remembering that we were never meant to do this alone.

I hope to see you at a FIT4MOM DuPage County class soon!
