Meet Our November 2018 - Mom of the Month

This month we're honoring Christina as the Mom of the Month! Christina joined Our Village after the birth of her twins in 2017 and she has been shining light and crushing goals in Body Back and Run Club ever since! She’s a hard working woman, incredible mom and a great friend to everyone who knows her. She is constantly encouraging others and shows us what grace and authenticity really is. We're so happy to have you as part of Our Village, Christina! Congrats!

  • Hometown: Wheaton, IL
  • Tell us about who is in your family: My husband, Jim, and I are high school sweethearts and have been married for 5 years. We have 2 year old girl/boy twins, Adeline (Addie) and Charles (Charlie). My parents and my in-laws live in Wheaton, which is why my husband and I moved back to the suburbs after living in the city. My brother and sister live in Chicago and my brothers and sisters in law (my husband had 8 siblings!) live in the suburbs and Chicago.
  • Current/Previous career: I work part-time at Marianjoy as a physical therapist on the Brain Injury Unit.
  • What was your childhood ambition?: To play college basketball for Notre Dame (that definitely didn't happen!) I originally went to physical therapy school to work with athletes, but found that I enjoy working with the neurological population more than athletes!
  • What does motherhood mean to you?: To me, Motherhood means doing your best to help your children grow and learn to the best of their ability. It is one of the hardest but most rewarding jobs!!
  • What is the farthest you have been away from home?: My family and I visited my brother in Augsburg, Germany, when he studied abroad in college. We explored Munich, Augsburg, Rothenberg, and Salzburg, Austria.
  • How did you find FIT4MOM?: A Facebook ad came up and I decided to check it out!
  • How as FIT4MOM changed your life?: I am the strongest and healthiest that I have been in years! Adding FIT4MOM in my life helped my with my postpartum anxiety. I love seeing all of you strong moms in class - it is so inspiring. There are also so many twin moms in this group and I have found that very empowering!
  • Favorite exercise: Boost! I love the high intensity workouts. And I love a good tabata class! And if you haven't tried Run Club, you definitely should! It's a lot of fun (even if you aren't a runner!)
  • Proudest moment: Professionally, graduating from physical therapy school at UIC. Personally, it is seeing my children learn new things every day.
  • Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us: I love sports - watching and playing. I'm a die-hard college basketball fan (Go Dayton Flyers) and March Madness is one of my favorite times of the year!
